APPLICATION TIPS

So, after examining the range of MBA programs, and considering your options, you have decided to apply. Here are a few tips to ensure that your application is treated favourably (ie. that you get offered a place!)

1. Obtain the official application form from the University. The form is critical, and your application probably won't be assessed without it.

2. Include certified copies of your academic record, this should include both copies of certificates/degrees awarded, plus academic transcripts.

3. If possible, include references from your previous and current employer. Referees should be able to attest to your ability to undertake and benefit from MBA studies. They should be able to comment upon your intellectual capacity; motivation; team-working; and overall dedication.

4. If an employer is paying for your MBA studies, ensure that this information is included. This would suggest that your employer is confident of your ability to benefit from the MBA, hence the investment in you.

5. In your covering letter, state exactly how you believe the MBA will benefit your career, and also how your presence will contribute to the MBA program.

6. If you are an international student, and/or if English is not your first language, you may need to provide evidence of English language ability. This usually means obtaining appropriate scores on either the TOEFL, or IELTS exams.
